Storage and handling for research materials

Cold-chain awareness and labeling discipline for laboratory receiving.

Lyophilised research peptides usually arrive as a dry powder in a sealed vial. Record the batch identifier on receipt, and check the seal and the label before the vial goes into storage.

Store vials cold, dry and away from light, following the conditions on the batch documents. Keep freeze–thaw cycles to a minimum, and let a vial reach room temperature before opening it so that condensation does not form inside.

Label every aliquot with the compound, the batch and the date, and file the batch documents with your laboratory records. Research use only. Not for human consumption.
