A certificate of analysis describes one batch. Start by matching the compound name and batch identifier on the certificate to the label on your vial: a certificate that does not name your batch does not describe your material.
Identity is usually confirmed by mass spectrometry, with the observed mass reported beside the expected molecular weight. Purity is usually measured by HPLC and reported as the share of the main peak; the chromatogram and method notes show how that figure was produced.
Check the test date and the laboratory that ran the analysis, and whether it is independent of the supplier. A certificate records what was measured on that batch. It says nothing about any use of the compound.
